An interpretation of The Charge of The Godess

Whenever ye would call upon me, there are thirteen times in the turn of the wheel.
Foregather ye then in a secret place, ye who would seek the mysteries,
but know only part; and I will teach thee.

Come to me in freedom and love
Keep pure the highest ideal within your heart
Unto thy own self be true.

I am the very cup of life
I am the mother of all that lives
And I am mother to all that slumbers

I am the beauty of the verdant Earth
And the grace of the Moon and Stars
I am the mystery of still Water

You have within you the devine spark
which is of Me
I will enfold you in My infinity.

Yet the Beast within also is my child
Know ye this beast
you are entrusted with its keeping

For what is light without darkness
and darkness without light
I am Mother of Shadows

You must come to know this mystery.
That if you cannot find these things within yourself
You will never find them without.
